We know that children spend the better part of the day in classrooms and schools with you. We, like you, believe it is important that when children walk through the doors of their schools, they are inundated with positivity. In the teachers they encounter, in the instruction they receive, and in the spaces they experience.

We are working to create impactful learning tools that help children see themselves represented in STEAM. We want them to confidently explore various STEAM themes and expand their ideas for what they can be when they grow up.

We hear you! Every day we hear from a teacher who says, help me find quality materials for my classroom. We are working to make our new marketplace a one-stop shop for classroom décor, STEAM activities and books that positively represent Black children. We are building out our marketplace daily with not only our STEAM themed enrichment boxes, but quality materials sourced from publishers, STEM activity makers, and creators. We are updating the marketplace daily so if you don’t currently see what you are looking for please keep checking back or drop us a note as to products you would like Brown Toy Box to carry.

Brown Toy Box boxes are curated and created to make STEAM accessible, representative and fun. In every box we include a book on a Black trailblazer or child hero, a hands-on project, and a fun activity. Because we know how instrumental parent involvement is to a child’s academic success, we also include information on the theme for the parents.

Every box is curated with the help of a council of moms, educators and a group of children, because we want to get it right.

Schools can subscribe to a specific theme or get the themed box for the month. For every order (25+ boxes), Brown Toy Box incudes a Leaders Box for the teach. The Leader’s box includes 1 classroom activity supporting the theme, three books and written activities. We recommend the teacher use the materials in her leader’s box first, then sometime during the month distribute the individual boxes so the children have context as to why they are getting their individual boxes.

Some teachers elect to have their students keep their boxes in the classroom and to the projects in them as an additional class activity, while others elect to have their children take their individual boxes home to do with their families.

The boxes are curated based on grade-level and are gender neutral. For bulk orders email classrooms@browntoybox.com, For 10 or fewer boxes, feel free to shop through the site.
